
For this project, we were tasked with producing 2D floor plans and elevations of a terrace of high street retail units. A number of the units were badly damaged by fire, meaning that the pointcloud data supplied by the client was of an incomplete building, with large sections of floor and roof missing or inaccessible.
In order to give the most complete set of data possible, this project required detailed analysis of the pointcloud supplied, as well as a number of difficult presentation decisions in terms of the most appropriate remaining detail to show on the requested plans. The complex shape of the building, which had evidently been altered over the years, also added a level of difficulty to the drawing, especially in inaccessible parts of the site.
Using our extensive construction industry knowledge, as well as a wealth of experience working with damaged and partly demolished structures, we produced detailed plans and elevations, accurately showing all remaining dimensions and displaying the extent of damage to the structure both internally and externally.
The end product will now help the final client to decide how best bring this building back into use.
